* Important notice for EOS-1D users:
Canon has improved the EOS-1D's firmware (http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS1D/1D_firmware-e.html) and driver software for better performance and greater functionality. We urge EOS-1D owners to install Firmware Update 1.4.0 together with the latest versions of the EOS-1D driver software in order to utilize the following new features:
1. Noise reduction tone curve settings are added to the EOS-1D's monitor menu.
2. Continuous shooting is supported with Remote Capture 2.5 or higher.
3. Exif 2.2 (Exif Print) is supported.
4. Windows® XP is supported. (Direct connect support via WIA 4.5)
5. Camera settings metadata has been modified.

NOTICE: You must use the latest driver software according to your OS if you wish to take full advantage of Firmware Update 1.4.0. The new firmware is not compatible with older versions of the driver software, therefore please use the latest versions of both. If you use Firmware Update 1.4.0 with an older version of the driver software, the camera won't work properly and you will not be able to access your images.

Also, EOS-1D users cannot use the Windows driver software (WIA Driver Ver.4.5/TWAIN Driver Ver.4.5), which supports Firmware Version 1.4.0, unless the computer is equipped with an IEEE1394 connection. If your Windows computer is not equipped with an IEEE1394 connection, please do not update your EOS-1D with Firmware 1.4.0 and your computer with Windows driver software (WIA Driver Ver.4.5/TWAIN Driver Ver.4.5).

Mac OSX compatibility with Canon Digital SLR cameras (EOS-1D, EOS D60/D30)

At Canon we are working on Mac OSX compatible versions of our software. Due to a complete software re-write, our release schedule has been delayed from the end of July to the end of December. As we are planning easy-to-use software with an extended feature set running on Mac OSX we would very much appreciate your patience in this matter. At the present stage, we are introducing the following support for those of you working in Mac OSX.

1. RAW Image Converter v2.0 ( Raw image conversion utility software ) is compatible with Mac OSX in Classic Mode. This version can be downloaded from our site.
2. Recently delivered EOS-1D’s or EOS D60’s bundle the new Solution Disk v3.1 (or 3.0). That disk contains the following carbonized versions of the software designed to work natively with Mac OS:

Image Capture v2.4
Photo Stitch v3.1
Remote Capture v2.5

Remote Capture software can be downloaded from our site, although no download service has been planned for the remaining software packages. Please contact Canon Service Centre if you have any questions.
