Seit gestern gint es die 4.1a(deutsche) Version von Idimager:

Today IDimager 4.1 is released. This release is the first major upgrade for the V4 version. It offers new features like quick assign, dynamic searching, panel scripts, and improved performance. IDimager makes digital image management a pleasure. All the tools you need are at your fingertips in a single intuitive environment. The program handles all the complex, technical aspects of your workflow. Instead of wasting countless hours on using different tools and getting them to work together, you can focus all your energy on actually managing your images so that all your working time is productive time.

Feature in the Spotlight
Many users use IDimager to manage their image catalog which is what IDimager is all about. But did you know that IDimager also offers upload features to the major photo sharing websites like Flickr, SmugMug, and Zenfolio?
If you are a member of any of these websites then it is very easy to upload images directly from your IDimager catalog to either of these services. You don't need to prepare you images up front. Just select the thumbnails and click the Transfer button in the application toolbar. There the appropriate photo sharing website. IDimager then displays a dialog where you can set the size for the images to upload, optionally add a frame, captions, and/or a watermark. Then click the OK button to start the upload process. Depending on the service you use you'll get a dialog where you can select or create a photo set on the photo sharing site. During the upload, IDimager stores the selected images in this photo set and also add the title, description, keywords, and for Flickr even GPS coordinates.

IDimager review at DAMRoundup.com
The website damroundup.com has set itself the goal to review all the major DAM tools and DAM supporting tools. Recently the website has published a detailed review of IDimager. The review touches many aspects of the application and is a good read for new, as well as existing IDimager users.
A short quote from the review's conclusion:
"I cannot say enough good things about what I found as I worked with the product. Idimager is just a well rounded DAM application that will meet the needs of most everyone. From the strong scripting engine to the ability to customize things to the well designed GUI, the application provides lots and lots of functionality without bursting at the seams. Sure - Idimager is complex. In fact, it has just about every tool you could want to maintain your digital assets. However, if you really spend some time with the product, read the help files and follow some threads in the forum, you will be up to speed with Idimager quickly."

New IDimager 4.1 update
Quick Assign Panel
The 4.1 release introduces the Quick Assign Panel. This panel is by located in the application's toolbar and it is intended to provide you with an even faster way to assign catalog labels to your images. With a single mouse click you can select your frequently used catalog labels and assign or revoke them to/from the active selection. But there is more; you can enter part of a catalog name in the Quick Assign Panel and the panel will offer you suggestions as you type. Then as these suggestions are displayed you just have to select it to assign the catalog label. Type - Pause - Select; it's as simple as that.

Dynamic Searching
V4.0 introduced the revolutionary selective search mechanism which allows you to quickly search for the most exotic combinations of data by simply selecting them and then click the run button. Now in 4.1, IDimager introduces Dynamic Searching. With Dynamic searching you can do the same, but now on-the-fly. Use it by clicking on different items in the Catalog Explorer while holding down the [Ctrl] or [Shift] key. As you click each item the search result will be populated and return all items that match your dynamic search combinations. Of course you can store a dynamic search as a Stored Group for easy future access.
Script Panel
The far left Explorer bar now includes a new icon: the script panel. As you open the script panel you can load any panel script in the panel. Since a script can perform different tasks it provides you with a very flexible tool to expand and customize your application. By default IDimager comes with 2 panel scripts pre-installed: the Exif Analyze Chart and the Google Maps script. The Exif Analyze Chart is a panel script that analyzes the Exif data of the selected images and then visualizes their statistics in a pie chart. You will be able to select which Exif field you'd like to display in the chart. This should make it easy for you to determine which lens you use most frequent, which aperture ranges you use (and which lens to buy next), etc.

The second panel script is the Google Maps script. When the Google Maps script is loaded in the script panel you can visualize your images on the Google Maps. For images without GPS coordinates it is very easy to add them to the map, while images that do have GPS coordinates can be viewed or even customized by dragging the markers around on the map.

Nothing is going to stop you or other IDimager customers from developing additional panel scripts in the future so keep an eye on the script repository site.
Improved performance
As image volumes and metadata volumes grow, it is important that IDimager keeps improving its performance where possible. This 4.1 update implements speed improvements in several areas which should offer you an improved user experience. Speed improvements are achieved in portfolio creation, working with virtual collections, working with metadata in the image details, adding and removing versions, etc.
